Being pregnant doesn’t mean that you need to be happy and calm all the time. During this period of your life, you’ll experience a bunch of emotions, and not all of us are the same. Therefore, we won’t feel the same while pregnant.

Some women have more joyful moments during pregnancy; and for others, this time will be hard causing fatigue, mood changes, and constant concerns about the process.

For me, this process has been a mix of both. I’ve had so many happy moments, and difficult experiences. The reason for this is that I’m so worried about the health of my baby. I want to have a healthy pregnancy and be able to see my baby soon.


This might be one of the most important words in my mind right now because it’s hard to avoid it, but not impossible.

That’s why I decided to share 5 things I do every single day to avoid feeling anxious about my pregnancy.

Let’s be clear about anxiety.

We cannot control everything what we feel during pregnancy due to the hormonal changes. It’s normal feeling many thing, so don’t feel overwhelmed.

One of the most important causes of anxiety are hormonal changes while pregnant because they change the chemicals in our brain, so we can feel more anxious about the process.

Still, we can do some daily activities to control your thoughts. Here we have them!

Stay hydrated

Hydration is important for our body function.

Our body loses a lot of water while doing daily activities, so we need to drink water during the day and keep our water levels in the right place.

Also, water helps our baby to get the correct amount of amniotic fluid in the uterus. So, it’s a win-win!

  • Drink more milk (I drink calcium-fortified Almond milk)
  • Make your favorite juice
  • Have soup for dinner since it will warm your body and help you to stay hydrated
  • Eat more watery fruits (watermelons or cucumbers)

Eat more veggies and fruit

Vegetables and fruits are great types of food because they provide a lot of vitamins. Just like water, they help our body to work properly.

Move your body

Giving your body the chance to work on something will help your brain to stay healthy. Our brain and body are connected, so we need to move it.

  • Going for a walk
  • Taking an online yoga class
  • Working out for 20 minutes
  • Playing with your pet outside

Keep my mind focus on different activities

Anxiety can also be produced because of overthinking. If we don’t do anything to distract ourselves, we be thinking about everything that’s related to our pregnancy.

And it’s great! We have to think about our baby, but don’t do it till you start having negative thoughts.

  • Practice your favorite hobby
  • Cook a delicious meal
  • Stay outside to get fresh air
  • Watch your favorite TV program
  • Do some exercises

Always remember that negative thoughts don’t have room in our mind.

Journal your thoughts

Usually, I write my thoughts on my journal because it’s a great therapy, not only for avoiding your anxiety, but also for knowing yourself a bit better.

Our mind and thoughts vary greatly from the moment we get pregnant due to hormones. Therefore, we can also change our perspective of life and journaling will help to know that new part.
