3 Most Important Steps to Become Productive | Be More Efficient

We all want to know how to be more productive, but not all of us wonder what we are doing incorrect now that’s holding us; that’s not allowing us to reach our goals.

Because of that, I want to share with you these three most important steps that you should follow if you want to become a productive person this 2022.

Time isn’t unlimited. Use it widely.

What does it mean to be a productive person?

Probably, you’re thinking that being productive only means that you need to accomplish and finish all the tasks at once. And, if you don’t finish them all, you are even less than a ‘productive person’ But, no, friends. That’s not how the things work.

Being productive is more like being concious about other aspects of life while working on our tasks, goals, activities, etc.

  • Mental health
  • Physical health

This two aspects are the most important when we say that we have to be productive. So, when I say that becoming a productive person is the most important thing in life, I really mean it. But when I say productive I’m talking about healthy productivity.

Healthy productivity

This type of productivity is about having a balanced and integrated life. Productivity is not about having a lot of task done in a very short period of time; it’s not about overworking yourself because you HAVE to; it’s not about forgetting about your mental health.

Healthy productive people will always balance their work and their lives out of work. They will always feel less stress and happier.

3 Best Ways to Become the Most Productive Person This 2022

It doesn’t matter if you have to finish 10 tasks before dinner time, and you only accomplished 1, 2 or 3 of them. What truly matters is that you feel good: not stressed, not overwhelmed, not tired at the point that you cannot stay awake for 5 minutes more. Nop.

If you want to be productive, you have to be sure that your physical and mental health are good. Do one thing, but do it well. Do not add ten tasks to your to-do list because not all of them will be done correctly. You need time to relax your mind and body.

You might also like to learn how to stay focus while working from home.

Set priorities

Define which tasks are the most important that you need to finish ASAP. For example, if you work as a designer, and a client asks you to create an image to promote a new product that’s going to be launched in one day. Then, probably, that’s your most important task.

  • Do the most important things first

When you set priorities, you need to focus your attention on performing the most important things first. When the most important tasks are concluded, then you’ll feel less stress. In that way, you’ll be able to go into your next task with a fresh mind.

Those activities that requires more concentration or more effort should be the most important ones. Or you might also plan your activities based on your deadlines.

Plan all your activities in a calendar

  • Identify your peak productivity hours

It’s highly important to recognize what are your most active hours. For example, for me, my mornings are the most powerful hours of the day. I’m full of energy because of my workout session and because I’ve just eaten my breakfast. Also, my brain is not tired, so I can work and have better results in the morning.

  • Set your intentions for the day

Always sit down and write down all your intentions, goals or activities (This can be done physically or digitally). Be sure to start your day with everything clear.

We can also set our intentions for the day the night before. That would be a great way of accomplishing your goals because you don’t have to waste time in the morning thinking about your activities. For most of us, mornings are quite short. So feel free to adapt this step and plan your day the night before in order to not feel overwhelmed.

What I normally do is to set my calendar on Sundays, and then during the week, I just re-check and organize new activities. However, the most important thing here is to know what you have to do immediately after finishing your breakfast.

Work on habits that increase your productivity

I’m a big fan of habits and systems because I think that they help us to become our best version. I’ve been working on some habits lately, and I promise, those activities has helped me to stay consistency on other areas.

For example:

I did the 100-day yoga challenge and now I’m sure that yoga is a habit that help me to relax my muscle after working out.

I’ve been working out consistently since I started the 100-day yoga challenge. My muscles thanks me all the time because they are stronger now.

I did the 7-day jump rope challenge and I felt in love with cardio once again.

All these challenges and habits helped me. Now I switched my mindset from a weak girl waiting for a miracle happens to a girl working day by day no matter how much time takes to reach her goals.

Some habits ideas that you can implement to your daily life:

  • Sleep for 7-8 hours each night
  • Plan the entire week in advance
  • Clean up and organize as you go
  • Avoid multitask
  • Prepare your clothes the night before
  • Schedule time to play or have fun
  • Keep your work space clean
  • Eat healthy
  • Drink more water
  • Move your body (any movement works)

Promise, I’m sure that we all have the opportunity to make a change. Do your stuff right now, get your life together, get out of your comfort zone. If you don’t make a little change now, you’ll not be able to accomplish your goals in the future (or it will take much more time).

Start working on yourself, plan your activities, and enjoy life.
