Taking care of yourself is key to achieving both personal and professional growth. In this article, we’ll explore 14 simple strategies to help you invest in yourself and unlock your full potential.
What does it mean to invest in yourself?
In super simple words: investing in yourself mean being able to invest money, time, and effort to create that person you want to meet.
At first, when we are aware of the meaning of this, we tend to think that it might be something super selfish, but when you are into the habit, you won’t think that.
Have you thought about why you put other people first when you are the main character of your life? Obviously, if we invest in ourselves, we’re not forgetting about other people. Instead, we’re taking care of ourselves to be able to take care of others.
I’m gonna be a mom of a beautiful boy by the end of the year, so I started learning about this because I want to teach my baby to be more mindful of its own decisions. I invest time in myself now to help others in the future.
Therefore, after saying all this, we can say that these tips will help you to become the best version of yourself, and that’s a thing we want to accomplish during a personal growth journey.
Obviously, I’m not saying that these tips will work for every single person who’s reading this post. But, at least, you can pick the tips that work for you personally.

When we have a family, it gets harder to get some time quiet. But this isn’t impossible, and I can assure you that because I’ve been able to get use some parts of my days to get in touch with myself.
Before going to bed, it’s ‘me‘ time. I sit down at my desk and start doing something to disconnect my mind a little bit. Some of the activities that we can do to accomplish this technique are:
- Meditate and connect with your inner pace
- Write some thoughts in my journal (Journaling prompts ideas for self-discovery)

7. Invest time in your relationships
This one is way more important because we are humans and we need to connect with people.
When I was younger, it was super difficult to understand that I needed to spend time with friends.
I’ve been always closest to my family, but friends… it was a bit weird.
Now that I’m almost 30 years old, I know that friends are important. That’s why I tried to be in touch with open-minded, positive, and ambitious people. Especially, trying to keep a good friendship with people who are working on themselves to become the best version of themselves.
This is probably because I’m on that journey of getting to know myself and creating my dream life.
Invest your time and energy into these relationships (parents, siblings, boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife, friends, among others). Try to maintain those wonderful relationships in your life by keeping in touch with them and demonstrating your interest in their lives.

I might say that we all know the positive effects of a healthy and balanced diet, so if you don’t take the step to start eating more vegetables and fruits, it’s only because you’re trying to ignore the reality.
Before becoming vegan, I loved vegetables, but I didn’t eat so many of them because I just didn’t want to. Now, three years after, I know that they provide all the nutrients that my baby and I need during this pregnancy.
I would love to write an article about my diet as a pregnant woman, so I’ll try my best to write that article. It might be helpful for some of you.
10. Travel to a new place
Go out and experience new adventures. You don’t need to go so far, just try to know new places each year. You can choose a specific place in your city and go for a walk there. Or, you can go out of your city once or twice a year and learn new things about the culture of that place.
You can be especially nurturing with new experiences during your trips.
11. Move your body more often
Your body deserves some love.
We work out because we love it, not because we hate it.
So, try to find some space during your day to work out or do an activity that keeps your heart rate up. You can do a specific routine to work a specific muscle, or you can do some cardio, dance, or jump rope.

If we think as a minimalist, we should spend our money on creating new memories, not getting new expensive things.

14. Start developing healthy habits
Adding new habits into our routine is incredibly beneficial for personal growth.
One of the best ways of developing new habits is to focus on one habit per month. You’ll have a lot more chances to succeed if you focus your attention on one activity at a time, master it, and then move to the next one.

15. Find a relaxing space in your house to unwind
Unwind is also a great way of investing in yourself.
You find some time during the day and a specific place in your house to sit down and create a routine to relax.

You can set a specific place at your house and get all the benefits for your mental health.
16. Work on creating a wardrobe you love
When we wear clothing that we love, we feel a lot more confident. I would always recommend a minimalist wardrobe so you don’t get overwhelmed when deciding what to wear.
